A Mission Born from Loss: Why I Built pfasnews
I’m Kean.
For over 20 years, I have been on the front lines of the fluorine chemical industry in Japan. As an R&D specialist, I spent decades studying the complex structures of fluorinated materials. I know exactly what PFAS is, how it works, and more importantly, how dangerous it can be.
My expertise comes with a heavy heart, however.
Throughout my career, I watched in horror as three star colleagues were taken from us far too soon. They were young, bright Ph.D.s with promising futures, but long-term occupational exposure to extremely toxic PFAS chemicals shortened their lives. All three died from cancer.
Vividly etched in my mind is the memory of their struggle and untimely death. It reminds me time and again that what we do not know is what can kill us.
We are an independent media platform, dedicated to unbiased reporting, free from the influence of any industrial organizations or chemical manufacturers.
